Background

The formation of Star Tickets was driven by an opportunity to create a niche ticketing services company in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Tickets Plus (the original name) was founded in 1994. In addition to ticket printing, Tickets Plus began serving as a ticketing agency primarily for concerts in West Michigan. The early business model included the establishment of ticket point of sale outlets at a number of retail sites to support ticket sales, primarily several local Meijer stores. The company very quickly grew the number and types of venues it was providing services to.

Tickets Plus continued to add new venues to its client list including outdoor fairs, small theatres and other special events. In 1998 the Company added its first casino, Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, recognized as one of the top three Native American casinos in the United States.

The company continued to expand, implementing a state-of-the-art ticketing system and steadily adding new venues throughout the nation. In December of 2003 Tickets Plus acquired Austin, Texas based Star Tickets. Star Tickets, with over 150 outlets in Texas and Oklahoma and a call / ticket fulfillment center in Austin was a perfect complement to the services provided by Tickets Plus. On December 13th, 2003, Star Tickets, Inc. was created.

Today, Star Tickets enjoys a customer list that includes numerous casinos, fairs and festivals, performing arts centers, sports teams and arenas with many additional prospects under negotiation across the U.S. The two call centers of Star Tickets are one of four integrated customer interaction platforms: venue box offices, retail ticketing outlets including Meijer and Dan's stores in select areas, centralized call centers, and the internet. Ticket buyers can purchase tickets for events represented by Star Tickets through any of the four sales platforms. Today, the company continues to build its customer base in four key areas: Native American casino entertainment venues, community theatres & performing arts centers, sports teams/arenas, convention centers and fairs & festivals.
