THESE EVENTS ARE NOW OFF SALE THROUGH THE STAR TICKETS WEBSITE AND CALL CENTER. YOU MAY STILL PURCHASE TICKETS AT ALL MICHIGAN MEIJER STORES OR ON SITE AT ROSA PARKS CIRCLE THIS WEEKEND. 

Children ages 6 and older will require a ticket. Not recommended for children under 6.

Regular General Admission to the event is free. The Buster Mathis Foundation Soul of the City VIP Concert Experience is a VIP General Admission area closer to the stage. The VIP Experience will include exclusive seating area closer to the stage (limited chairs provided - you are welcome to bring your own), event program with free and discounted food and drink coupons for the event, VIP Express Wristband which guarantees shorter lines for food and drink (wristband colors change DAILY), recognition and appreciation of your name on event website, and your tax deductible $10 donation will help fight against violence and bullying for children! The Buster Mathis Foundation offers the Bully Buster Preventative Program and Athletes Against Bullying Initiative to schools and organizations.

The Urban Sparks, WYGR 94.9 FM and the Buster Mathis Foundation, connect West Michigan to the only City of Grand Rapids African American Festival. The Soul of the City is co-sponsored by the City of Grand Rapids and offers weekend entertainment featuring outdoor concerts with local and headlining national artists performing, R&B, Jazz, Blues and Gospel! The event also includes a Health & Wellness Fair, dedication for victims of violence and of course amazing food to feed the soul!  Proceeds from this year’s event assist the Buster Mathis Foundation a federally recognized 501c3 nonprofit organization in providing and promoting anti-bullying education and violence intervention to children.
